Frequently Asked Questions
How long does borehole drilling take in Kenya?
From survey to commissioning, expect 4 to 10 weeks. Most of the time is spent on permits. Actual drilling rarely takes more than 5 days.
Do I need permits to drill a borehole?
Yes. Kenya’s Water Act 2016 requires WRA authorisation and a NEMA EIA licence before drilling. We handle the entire permit process for our clients.
How much does it cost to drill a borehole in Kenya?
Cost depends on depth, geology, casing, pump type and access. Get an instant estimate with our borehole cost calculator or call us for a free site assessment.
How deep do boreholes go in Kenya?
Depths range from about 30 metres on the Coast to over 300 metres in arid Northern Kenya. In Nairobi, most new boreholes are between 150 and 300 metres because the upper aquifer is over extracted.
