Featured Borehole Drilling Case Studies

Below are real examples of what we deliver. Client names are kept private out of respect for our customers, but every project detail is genuine.

Case Study 1: Family Home Eliminates Water Bowser Dependency in Kitengela

Location Kitengela, Kajiado County
Client Type Residential (four bedroom family home)
Depth Achieved 180 metres
Casing uPVC
Pump Type Submersible electric, solar hybrid

The Challenge: The family had been relying on water bowsers for three years. Monthly water spending was unpredictable and rising, and supply was unreliable during dry seasons.

Our Solution: A full hydrogeological survey identified a productive aquifer at 165 metres. We drilled to 180 metres, installed uPVC casing, completed 48 hours of test pumping, and installed a hybrid solar plus grid pump system with 10,000 litre storage.

The Result: Bowser dependency eliminated within four months. The family now has 24/7 water access and a neighbour buys excess water for a small commercial nursery.

Case Study 2: Poultry Farm Stabilises Production with Solar Borehole in Thika

Location Thika, Kiambu County
Client Type Agricultural (5,000 bird poultry farm)
Depth Achieved 220 metres
Casing Steel (industrial duty)
Pump Type Solar submersible with backup generator

The Challenge: The farm faced major production losses every time Nairobi water rationing kicked in. Birds were stressed, egg production dropped, and the owner was considering downsizing.

Our Solution: We drilled a 220 metre borehole through the area’s hard volcanic rock, installed steel casing for long term durability, and designed a solar powered pump system with 30,000 litre storage and generator backup.

The Result: Water interruptions disappeared completely. Egg production stabilised within six weeks, and the farm has since expanded to 8,500 birds.

Case Study 3: Boarding School Secures Water Independence in Machakos

Location Machakos County
Client Type Institutional (boarding school, 600 students)
Depth Achieved 260 metres
Casing Steel with stainless screens
Pump Type Heavy duty submersible, mains powered

The Challenge: The school spent significant funds on water bowsers each term, and unreliable supply was affecting hygiene, kitchen operations and academic timetables. Lower Eastern Kenya’s hard formations had defeated two previous drilling attempts.

Our Solution: Our hydrogeological survey identified a productive deep aquifer. We drilled through the difficult formation to 260 metres, installed steel casing with stainless steel screens, and built a 50,000 litre elevated water tower with a full distribution network.

The Result: The school has had uninterrupted water supply for over two years. Operating costs dropped substantially, and the school now sells excess water to neighbouring institutions.

Case Study 4: Beachfront Lodge Solves Salinity Challenge in Kilifi

Location Kilifi County
Client Type Commercial (beachfront lodge)
Depth Achieved 95 metres
Casing uPVC with sealed screening
Special Feature Reverse osmosis water treatment

The Challenge: The lodge sat 400 metres from the shoreline. Their previous borehole had failed within a year due to saltwater intrusion, leaving them dependent on expensive tanker deliveries.

Our Solution: A detailed coastal hydrogeological survey identified a freshwater aquifer above the saline layer. We drilled to a precise 95 metres, used sealed screening to prevent saltwater migration, and installed a reverse osmosis treatment system as additional protection.

The Result: The lodge now has potable water year round. Tanker deliveries ended completely, and the owner has expanded to a second property nearby.

Case Study 5: Community Water Project Transforms Village in Turkana

Location Turkana County
Client Type NGO funded community project
Depth Achieved 320 metres
Casing Steel (deep arid drilling)
Pump Type Pure solar with elevated tower

The Challenge: Women in this remote village walked over six kilometres each day to collect water from a seasonal river. During droughts, that distance doubled. Two earlier drilling attempts by other contractors had ended in dry holes.

Our Solution: A thorough geophysical survey identified a deep productive aquifer. We mobilised heavy duty drilling rigs to the remote site, reached 320 metres, and installed a fully solar powered pump system with a 100,000 litre elevated tower and community tap points.

The Result: Over 1,500 villagers now have clean water access within a five minute walk from home. School attendance has improved and small kitchen gardens are emerging in the community.

Case Study 6: Food Processing Factory Secures Industrial Supply in Nakuru

Location Nakuru County
Client Type Industrial (food processing plant)
Depth Achieved 195 metres
Casing Steel with full grouting
Special Feature Fluoride removal treatment system

The Challenge: The factory needed reliable, food grade water for processing operations. The Rift Valley’s naturally high fluoride levels made untreated borehole water unsuitable for the application.

Our Solution: We drilled to 195 metres, installed steel casing with full grouting to isolate fluoride heavy upper formations, and designed a multistage fluoride removal treatment system meeting KEBS and WHO standards.

The Result: The plant runs at full capacity year round with KEBS compliant water. Mains water dependency was reduced by 90 percent, and the project paid back within 18 months.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Projects

Can you share photos and video of past borehole projects?

Yes. We maintain extensive photo and video documentation of completed projects. Follow our Facebook page, YouTube channel, or TikTok to see project footage from across Kenya.

Can you provide references from past clients?

Yes. We can connect you with past clients in your area or sector who have agreed to give references. Reach out and let us know your project type and we will arrange relevant referrals.

What is your success rate on borehole projects?

Our hydrogeological survey based approach delivers a high success rate. Dry boreholes are rare when proper survey, drilling, and casing protocols are followed, which is why we never drill without a proper survey first.

Do you handle very deep or very remote drilling projects?

Yes. We have completed projects exceeding 300 metres in arid Northern Kenya, including Turkana, Marsabit, and Mandera. Mobilisation logistics are discussed on a per project basis.

How long does a typical borehole project take from start to finish?

From the first survey to commissioning, expect 4 to 10 weeks. Most of the time is spent on permits (2 to 6 weeks). Actual drilling rarely takes more than 5 days.

Do you take on small residential projects or only large jobs?

Both. We treat every project with the same engineering standards, whether it is a single family home in Kiambu or a 100,000 litre community system in Turkana.
